Is a Living Will and a Medical Power of Attorney the same?

In some states this is a combined document and in some states it is two separate documents.  The Living Will document (or provisions if a combined with the Medical Power of Attorney), directs end-of-life decisions, such as life support.  The Medical Power of Attorney document (or provisions if combined with the Living Will), names and authorizes an individual to make medical decisions for you if you are unable to do so for yourself.
